Hi!Do you take world news?If you do,here is an article(Quoted from Yahoo!Singapore):

Sixty-six people were killed and many others injured after a stampede broke out at a stadium in the Philippine capital.

The death toll rose to 66 after the stampede at the Ultra stadium where thousands had gathered to see the recording of the popular ABS-CBN "Wow-wow-wee" television variety show, said Vicente Eusebio, mayor of the suburb of Pasig where the incident occurred.

The cause of the stampede was unclear with some officials saying someone had shouted "bomb," sparking a panic that caused people to trample one another.

However Pasig deputy police chief Romeo Abaring said they were still investigating the incident and that they could not say if the stampede had been triggered by the alleged bomb threat.

"The reason for the stampede was a lot of people converging on one spot," said Abaring, noting that the crowd had surged towards the sole entrance to Ultra stadium, a narrow passageway where most of the dead were found.

Dead bodies, most of them women, were taken out of the stadium on stretchers and laid down the street, covered with newspapers, plastic bags and discarded cloth.

A little boy was seen crying over the body of his mother, trying to awaken her.

Most of the victims were middle-aged or elderly women with some of the dead still with their eyes open in shock.

"These people just didn't know what hit them," said one rescue worker as he tended to the victims.

Hundreds of people remained in the area after the tragedy, some curious bystanders, others wandering about in confusion and many still lined up, hoping to attend the airing of the show where huge prizes were to be given away to the audience.

Many people had camped outside the stadium for days, hoping to win one of the prizes including the million-peso (19,250-dollar) top prize offered at this first anniversary special for the popular show.

The crowd of gawkers slowed the entry of ambulances to the scene which remained littered with shoes, slippers, handbags and other items, left behind in the chaos.

Some semblance of order was restored when Vice President Noli de Castro arrived to take charge, shooing away the news photographers who had swarmed to the scene.

De Castro, who rose to national prominence as an ABS-CBN television host, appealed for calm and urged people to return home before holding an impromptu meeting with city police officials and aides of President Gloria Arroyo.

ABS-CBN, in a statement read on air, expressed sorrow over the incident and vowed to shoulder the medical and funeral costs of the victims.

The broadcaster also said that despite the tragedy, it would still air the show later in the day but it would be "in public service for the injured and the families of the dead" and to "give some comfort to our countrymen."

"Wow-wow-wee" host Willie Revillame had earlier asked to the station management to allow him to host the show as scheduled despite the deadly accident.

"No one wanted this to happen," he said.

"We only wanted to make these people happy and to help the poor," Revillame said, breaking down during an interview aired by the station.
