I just read this in the news. If you spot the said video, DON'T WATCH IT!!! My dad said it's horrible and inhumane! Booooo to China :icon_angry3:

The Chinese has a weird eating habits!! No offense (since my mom is also Chinese but she totally agrees with me) but the food they eat is always about manhood- I am accepting ( with difficulties because I am an animal lover) the facts that they might eat some animals we consider pets but to TORTURE them in such inhumane way is really showing the character of the people.
We were once invited on an official visit to Taipeh, Taiwan and on one of the evenings we were invited to the Night Market. My mom took a step into the street and she insisted she be brought back to the hotel. I wasn't allowed to even see anything because she didn't want me to have nightmares.
Last year I have to make a school report on Endangered Species and I chose Sea Turtles and Sharks. I was shown just a mild version videos of how they were tortured before they eventually die. Sharks are cut off their fins and thrown back to sea to be bled to death. :icon_angry3: The Chinese eat Shark Fin soup and if they stop eating, then the trade for shark fins will stop. If they kill the sharks for meat and fins, I can deal with that but to just chop of the fins and thrown them alive back into the sea is inhumane. I get very upset with that.
Recently I saw in the Malaysian STAR paper (I think that's the name) a Tiger carcass stuffed in a refrigerator! How cruel is that killing an endangered species of Malaysia. What good does a man if he eats that thinking he will be super powerful but his brain is peanut?!  It makes me angry. Then I saw in Travel & Living an American chef cooking Shark Fin soup!!!  My mom helped me write to the company. |

YUCKS!!!!!! That's gory!!! We don't eat anywhere else in Jakarta but the hotel.
Chris...I have to differ when you said Christians love animals. Loving and kindness don't see color or religion because all religion actually preach peace and loving kindness. It's only those fanatics (Muslims and Christians) alike that spoil the word 'religion'.
The Chinese in particular (since we are talking about the main subject) like exotic and must-be expensive food to show off that they have the money to do so. Add with the idea of virility for men, these became a problem because money talks...and as long as someone is willing to pay a high price for something, the trade will continue.
I am not blaming all Chinese, please...but we got to face the fact that THEY are the highest threat to animal extinction.
BTW what is this with bones and being Chinese? I don't understand that! |
