It's not called paying, it's called a fine. Well, apparently, they want to 'uphold singapore's image as a "clean and green" Singapore' so that 'Singapore will be able to attract MORE tourists' (as if there isn't enough).

And, Its not to attract more tourists. Mainly to not make us sick. Imagine a very dirty and yucky country!! Who will ever not get sick?? if its soooo dirty we will easily fall sick. Likc the bad haze condition. So that's why you need to pay the fine of about $200. Icon_favorites49

aww.. phoebz, YZ wasn't being mean lah..

the only person who will critise Singapore correctly are their own people.. the Singaporeans..

YZ is just expressing her opinion.. anyways, no criticism no improvement.. and I also agree with YZ in a way or another..

besides, most countries are not THAT uptight about littering and they're still clean..

like in Japan, do you know that there's only maybe like 2 rubbish bins along one whole stretch of road..
and its still clean.. :)

Singapore is a REALLY small place.Sometimes i take the safety for granted.My dad says in some countries,it wont even be safe to walk around at perhaps 8PM at night.But in Singapore,its quite safe.Sometimes when i go to other countries,I dont feel so secure.But the moment i return to Singapore,I feel safe,you know?I dont know how to describe the feeling,but I'm glad i live in Singapore (: Icon_favorites49

Even if you drop it, you pick it up and that's alright. If you drop it by accident or purpose it could be caught on tape. I dropped one trash by accident and didn't notice but i'm not caught cause i really accidently dropped it.

And in addition, Singapore doesn't have much of casinoes and people are not encouraged to smoke. If you smoke you will be fined too if you throw the cigeratte buds on tables, chairs or public places!

it depends.. there's some places where you can smoke, and some where you can't..
anyways, i doubt anyone here smokes right? xD

anyways, phoebz, about more than 70% of the people get caught on tape, but the people who see it just can't be bothered..
Its like if you see someone else litter, would you even bother to report it to the police? No! lol..

Anyways, anyone planning to come to Singapore.. :D
