Welllll....
i had to wear expansion plate last time..
At first it didnt hurt..
Later on when i bite..it hurts alot..and its real funny when u speak!!

I had braces when I was 11 years old....then at the next 6 months my stupid dumb dentist said that i can have my braces off now! 
In Norway, I had to pull 4 teeth so that there is place for my other teeth.
I have now braces......and next week im gonna have braCEs down!
Well, it can hurt at first.....but for me I didnt think it was really painful 2nd time coz I knew how it felt like.
It isnt really that bad!
Trust me......you'll get used to it.
P.S Dont believe JC saying that it is REALLY painful. 
Coz it is NOT!

| My aunt has them and she said that it's difficult to keep them clean. The dentist said she can take the braces out after 2 years. IT'S BEEN 3 YEARS NOW! Haiya. Are you serious, Cammy? After 6 months you can take you braces out? |

braces hurt 4 me... cuz i dun have a perfect teeth like the others!
but i dun have braces! my grandmother won't let me have one!
how can i get perfect teeth w/o wearing those braces??? even retainers i will accept it! just to get my teeth right!

its not painful......................REALLY!u got to choose different colors, even i tried MULTI-COLORED!
it coz php 40,000, actually it was php45,000 but then we were hvin a discount, so its 40,000.
my brothers going to hve expansion plate. i dunno if it hurts! |

I got palatal expander (RPE) installed on December 2007. I had to turn the key 2x a day for 14 days. After that, the RPE was left in the mouth for 2 months. Yes, it's VERY bulky & uncomfortable at first. But trust me you'll get used to it even if you think you won't. It can take you up to 7 days to get used to it. It took me about 5 days. It was REALLY hard for me to learn to eat, chew and the hardest thing was to SWALLOW. But I learned a technique, my own technique. You'll learn yours. Haha.. You may also experience extra saliva in the mouth. I drooled all over my pillow every night with RPE!
After a few days, you can barely feel it! I sometimes forgot that I have RPE in my mouth!
I was a lisper freak during the first 3 days!! My sister didn't understand every word that came out of my mouth that I had to write it down! This passage helped me a lot..

My tongue was sore because of the new movement it had to get used to. When you turn the key, you'll feel PRESSURE. Many say it hurts. Yes, but not all of the time. It hurt at times. But basically just pressure. My teeth did feel sore & tender though. Also, you'll develop a gap between your 2 front teeth. Luckily, I didn't! Yeah! A week before you get RPE, you'll get little elastics called separators between your molars & that is when the tenderness starts!
I just got my RPE off last monday (OMG, I feel soo free!)!! On the same day, I got an appliance installed called transpalatal arch (TPA) to maintain the new shape & width of my palate (I also got my lower 1st bicuspid extracted). The TPA is a thin wire that goes across the roof of the mouth from first molar to first molar. It feels much better than RPE! But mine came with 2 extending arms because my ortho said my palate need extra help. I'll be getting another of my lower 1st bicuspid extracted tomorrow! And after that BRACES!
BTW I'm not adila. I'm her twin sis, amira. I just want to share my experience. adila didn't get a palatal expander but she got her 4 first bicuspids extracted & got braces the day I got RPE.
PS: RPE stands for rapid palatal expander.
