I learned about DoDo's in a book. Animals eat their eggs and sailors eat them (and theire eggs). Dodo birds are one of my faourite birds. Too bad I can't see one.

You'll be happy to know there are people and countries who take very stern actions against cruelty to any sorts of animals. Here's the latest news on animal cruelty--->

Quote:
Italy restaurant fined for "cruel" lobster display
ROME (Reuters) - An Italian restaurant was fined 688 euros ($855) for displaying live lobsters on ice to attract patrons, in an innovative application of an anti-cruelty law usually affecting to household pets.

A court in the northeastern city of Vicenza ruled the display was a form of abuse dooming the crustaceans to a slow death by suffocation.

"We're appealing," said Giuseppe Scalesia, who runs La Conchiglia D'Oro, or "Golden Shell," restaurant along with his brother Camillo.

"They said that the lobsters, laying on the ice, suffer... They compared them in court to other animals, like cats and dogs."

The case was brought by Gianpaolo Cecchetto, a former environmental activist, who took his two young children to the Vicenza restaurant in May 2002.

"They were shocked by the display," Cecchetto told Reuters, adding he immediately got in touch with the ENPA national animal protection entity. "ENPA took care of the lawyers and legal proceedings."

Italy has some of the world's toughest animal rights laws. The city of Rome in October banned goldfish bowls, seen as cruel, while Turin passed a law last year that would fine dog owners 500 euros unless they walked their canine friends at least three times a day.

Maybe we can make a project in ASC PROJECT. Each one of us can get petition to stop animal cruelty from your school mates and we can also make graphics against animal cruelty. We can create a topic here and posters can contribute cruelty to animals and some of us can create graphics so we can post them.

How about that?

YESYES create graphics to stop animal cruelty! We can put all our cute little animals in and say... STOP ANIMAL CRUELTY! Is it OK if I make a flash for it too? =]

Yeah, I agree with all of you! Maybe by expanding this to the ASC PROJECTS; we might just make people around the world know that animals also have rights. Eventhough we ate them! Icon_favorites49

But, HX, I thought the ASC Projects was only about teen or kids get through their hard lifes. But, I still agree no matter what. Oh yeah, I agree with Cath. We could expanding it by advertising to other sites and make graphics and all.

Oh yeah, when they put the tube into somewhere on the body do the geese died slowly or quickly? 'Cause if we killed it quickly, the animal doesn't really feel the pain at all and died quickly and it's humane. (well, not really humane, but foie gras case, I mean) If we killed it slowly, it would feel the terrible pain. *IT RHYMES!*

Ok, I asked my dad about foie gras just now and started babbling "How could they do this? How inhumane! They put some kind of a tube into the throat and force it to eat till it became fat. Eghhh, and..."
"You ate it, Alin"

AHHHH!!!! I ate it! My dad said he brought me to an expensive restaurant and... *sad music* I... I.... did not... even know... I... that I..... ATE THAT DELICIOUS DELICACY! LOL. I didn't even know I ate them. *sigh* Next time, I won't let dad order for me, ever!!! AHHHHH!!!! Next time, I'll stick to steak and hamburgers only.

Oh yeah, this is how we pronounce foie gras, right?; "fwa gra"

Yes it's pronounced as 'fwa- gras'. You can still eat pate in the restaurant but you can first ask what kind of pate it is. There are many type.

Stick with chicken liver pate. It's as yummy as foie gras. Icon_emotions16
