bugbug and xrobin3, what made two of you homeschooled?

For me it came with various reasons, one being I am following my dad in his travels and the other is because my parents didn't want to put me in a school and then have me taken out a month of two later.

Why only at 13? Will your parents be teaching you or privated tutored? I don't know if it's legal to homeschool in Malaysia if you are a Malaysian.

In our school, a lot of students are being pulled out because they want their daughters to be homeschooled, but our friends that are home schooled now are still visiting the school once in a while. One even migrated from the US just to suppport the RH Directors Cup. :queen:

Well..it depends. I'll list the advantages as I know it:
01)School lessons are conducted in my own time, that means I am flexible. If I have to travel, my lessons are postponed to later time.
02)I get a one to one teaching- lessons that are taught must be understood first before another subject is taught.
03)Part of homeschool plan for me is to learn the culture of the country I am living.
04)I get 'interviewed' by a university professor once or twice a year for my performance and general knowledge to see if my knowledge level is okay for my age.

Disadvantage:
01)Lack of school friends to compare notes. Although I have friends here to play with, my parents said I lack the competitiveness to excel or become better (that's what they said) like in a competition. I don't feel the need to compete and not jealous of everyone- which is good in one way I guess but I do like to feel what's it's like.
02)School can be horrible especially when I don't get the subject taught. My online teacher, mom or dad will try every way they know how to get the info into my head although dad being the phychologist makes sure I can handle it. If not, my super hero dada will postpone the subject to later date. Icon_emotions5
03)I don't have homeworks like you bring your work home to do. I have projects in my school hours itself. Mostly I have to find a lot of researches, general knowledge, form an opinion on news around the world- of course with a lot of discussions, stuffs like that.
04)When I travel and missed my lessons, I have to pay back!!! Icon_favorites42
